Went here in August 2010 while on vacation for a pedicure mainly because I'd had excellent service in 2003 from the two professional ladies working there. Those ladies made my feet as soft as baby feet :) Anyways when I arrived this time I noticed that the staff and settings were a little different but didn't pay attention to it. BTW I was paying 55 bucks for a pedi in a foot spa that you get from Walmart (the little white Conair model) but at least they had a massage pad on the chair. Also after the lady was finished my heels were still rough. And she left finger nail polish all over my cuticles.Finally I met the owner and alas she had just bought the shop from the previous owner about 3 years ago (probably AFTER the shop won the best spa award in 2007, as it is so prominently displayed on their website). I could've gone to any random nail shop and paid $20 for equal or better service.
So I went there for a cut and color. The cut was fine, but my hair was dyed darker than i wanted. I asked them to fix it, and they made it worse (it now glows red in the sun), and charged me extra for trying to fix it. Needless to say I won't go back again.
I paid $100 for some highlights and they weren't light enough so I went back and the lady explained how they would "lighten up in a few days." well that never happened so I went back again and she said the same thing and that she could put a few more highlights in but it would cost more. I don't understand why I would pay more for some already expensive highlights it makes no sense. they don't have good customer service and it seems like they don't really care if you like it or not. I went to Southern Style, a little hole in the wall place across from the mall in Brunswick and she fixed them for $20.
TOP OF THE LINE! This was a true Aveda experience. I met with the owner and the salon has been ranked number 1salon and day spa since 2007 which it prominently displays on the website! It is a well deserved award. I recieved a wonderful color and cut from the owner and had wonderful conversation with her and how she has made the salon what it is today. Everyone at the salon has years and years of training and are very skilled in their craft! I reccomend this salon and day spa to EVERYONE! I can't wait to go back and see what Christmas packages they are offering!
Extremely professional. Emily offered her expertise & proceeded to reward me withe the best cut & color I've had in years. A gem on the Island.....old reviews have nothing to do with current quality. I'll be back!
