Two days in a row. The blueberry pancakes are piping hot and deliciously transcendent, as are the grits and the sausage. I live in NYC and I cannot find breakfast that is this excellent, flavorful, careful, and homegrown. We wandered in on day 1 and were stopped dead in our tracks. A very rare find.
I went to this restaurant because people had told me that it was nice. When I got there our waitress was very rude to me. She claimed she had asked me a different question than the one she actually did. After that she claimed that I was grouchy and that she had offended me which she did not and I was not grouchy. Then me and my friend ordered our food and we found it nasty. Our salad was not even a salad and the ranch dressing was bitter. Then my other friend found a bone in her sandwich. It was a very upsetting experience and I will for sure remember never to go back to that place.
Incredible breakfast! While they do offer the common eggs, bacon, etc., their $12-$15 dishes proved to be well worth it. The coastal delight omelet and surf squared breakfast plates were both delicious. If you like some spice, request their homemade sesame/ginger Carolina reaper sauce. Service was excellent!
*The best breakfast I've ever had*
Not bad, not great. If you go, stick to comfort basics. The fancier menu items seem a bit beyond their scope. ("Maple Glaze" means drenched in fake maple syrup.) Hollandaise sauce was tasty and they did poach the eggs well. Potatoes were bland though.
This is a MUST try. A truly special, unforgettable experience. Sit by the window if possible. Service is generally excellent and the atmosphere is great. Has to be the best on St Simon's...
The food was fabulous! The waitress didn't get my order right but what I got was very good. The French Toast was as thick as 2 slices of Texas toast and didn't need any syrup! They don't have very much room and the small table I was at left little room for other guests to walk past to go to the bathroom. I was hit in the head a couple times by other people trying to get through. Overall the food was great, service could use some improvement, and the space was really tight. I gave 4 stars mainly for the food since the other aspects were not at a 5 star quality.
