Overall, I would eat here again. The food was good. The service was subpar. The views were nice, however.
We found Echo to be the perfect place for a reunion lunch with old friends.
Ordered mac and cheese(6/10), fried chicken fingers (8/10) and fries(4/10), straight up burger (7/10). Presentation is excellent though. Mac and cheese is over priced and salty. Fries were oily and soggy. Server was Dylan (8/10). Decor 10/10. View 10/10. Complimentary parking. Hotel looks gorgeous but we didn't stay here.
Our service was flawless........intelligent, friendly and well informed. We would love to have our server be part of our meal again.
Manager, Jason Vickers, went above and beyond to exceed our expectations. It was my husband's birthday and we couldn't be happier with choosing to stay at this resort. From Jose showing us to our room, to the young man and lady who booked our reservation, to finally, dining at Echo and Jason's attentiveness and customer service excellence, this resort has been a treat and we will return many more times. Thank you.
If the restaurant could get its act together it could be suburb. It has the loveliest location on the island, an interesting menu, reasonable prices and a pleasant wait staff who struggle valiantly to explain and apologize for the inexcusably erratic dishes they bring to your table. The food is inconsistent; sometimes one dish may be acceptable while another is not. Once I had superb flakey grouper fingers never to be repeated. On one memorable anniversary dinner my wife and I were brought 2 entire meals that were not what we ordered. Yes, after a lengthy weight they managed to bring us the wrong dinner twice. And a word the the chef; before you cook seafood, have your cook smell it. We recently left a serving of fried crab claws on the table because they weren't fresh. And taste what you serve. Lovely Mediterranean mussels tasted like the bottom of a south Georgia swamp. Go to Echo for the scenery and a drink. I recommend dining elsewhere.
The food was tasty, well prepared and plentiful. The bone marrow and wagyu were beyond description........."delicious" would be damning with faint praise.
Well worth the two+ hour drive from Hilton Head.
